In business it's easy to get wrapped up in projects and numbers- our successes then only determined by ratios like ROI. I like this side of things, as I'm a very numbers oriented individual, but we shouldn't make the mistake of confusing numbers with people. Which is our priority?
There's been many days since I took the CEO position at IT Depot that I get consumed by the spreadsheets and the promise of turning numbers from red to black. I need that reminder of why we are here. We are here to serve- serve a community of businesses, and provide them with peace of mind and time.
I've quickly learned that when it comes to internet, phones/phone service, and office cabling, there's a lot of troubling jargon, often making things more complex than what's necessary. Further, products and services are often filled with unnecessary margin that make it difficult for businesses to keep a budget.
We strive to bring transparency to where it has been lacking.
It's time to return our focus back to our purpose- to help others and solve a problem. If you market your solution effectively, and the solution is desired, spreadsheets and numbers tend to take care of themselves.
